Pleasant View
Take a quick trip just 30 minutes northwest of Nashville, and you’ll find the rural town of Pleasant View. The town’s population sits at a cozy 4,500, which means great home prices and plenty of peace and quiet. Thanks to the tight-knit community here, you’ll also find plenty of locally owned shops and restaurants, like Sidelines Grill and Golly G’s Coffee, Ice Cream, and Sweets.
Pleasant View didn’t get its name for nothing, either. The town and homes are surrounded by Tennessee country land, filled with rolling hills, picturesque red barns, and patches of forests.
Plus, the commute in to Nashville is super easy thanks to I-24 running right through town.
Springfield
A 30 mile straight-shot north of Nashville, Springfield is a little bigger than Pleasant View—sitting at almost 17,000 people—but still provides a similar small-town ambience. Known for its rich history and scenic landscapes, the idyllic downtown and stunning estates make life in this little pocket of Tennessee truly one-of-a-kind.
Since Springfield has a larger population, residents have access to a little more shopping and dining, especially as far as chains are concerned. But you won’t miss out on unique flavors by not living in the city—be sure to check out stops like the Catfish House, Torino’s, and the Depot Bar and Grill.
While the commute time is a little longer to Nashville at around 45 minutes, you’ll have access to more amenities around town than Pleasant View affords.
